This lets you set the project data folder for the project, where recorded and rendered audio files will be stored. One view might show all your plug-in presets, another might show audio loops.ġ0: Go to the Options menu and select Project General Settings. Each one is a preset view of the same browser and you can flip between them by choosing from this menu. On the left is the browser, and if you mouse over the top of this area you will see several Snap options. It’s a good idea to leave this on, although it can be switched off.ĩ: Come out of the Preferences window and return to the main screen. There’s also the option to add a secondary VST plug-ins folder search path and a control for setting how often an auto-save backup is performed. Its amazing how much time this saves.Part 2 of our Powering Up With FL Studio tutorial…Ĩ: In the File section you can assign more dedicated folders to be searchable by the Browser so they can be quickly accessed from inside a project. So every time I assign a track to a channel I hear nothing and I have to chose a routing to a master track before I can continue. One thing I have done to help this is to disable all routing for channels 10 upwards. Instead I force myself to choose the channel grouping at the start. Then later you go to group them into different channels for your mixdown only to find that all the levels get messed up in the process. You load up a load of samples, get everything sounding amazing but its all going through the Master. Why do I do this? Because its really easy to get your channel setup in FLStudio completely messed up. Every other track in my project will have to go through one of these slots. So I have already decided that all beats will go through channel 1, all bass through channel 2, etc. Each of these is routed to the Master track. Once you use this once it will remain your default.

This is just a project that you make and then save into a special folder – see the FLStudio docs (I don’t write instruction manuals!).

Heres how I use them in FLStudio.įirst off you need to create an FLStudio template. I find templates an incredibly useful time saving tool in both FLStudio and Cubase.
